Renewable energy applications for rural and agricultural development

The program builds on the theme of renewable energy technology applications in rural areas. It translates topics such as biomass conversion, clean fuel, bioenergy systems, renewable energy transition, agricultural biotechnology, and rural energy technology into a course framework suitable for African learning, exchange, and capacity development.

Planned cooperation basis

The program is planned in cooperation with the College of Engineering, China Agricultural University, with relevant cooperation platforms including the International Joint Research Center for Biomass Energy Science and Technology and the Beijing International Science and Technology Cooperation Base for Clean Utilization of Biomass, China.

Renewable energy applications in rural areas, energy transition pathways, decentralized systems, and appropriate technology models for African communities.

Biomass energy strategy, agricultural waste utilization, biomass gasification, thermochemical conversion, torrefied biomass, and clean biomass applications.

Biofuels and Bioenergy Pathways

Biodiesel, biofuel upgrading, next-generation biofuels, anaerobic digestion, biochar, value-added chemicals, and integrated bioenergy systems.

Solar Thermal and Energy Engineering

Solar water-heating systems, thermal engineering indicators, energy efficiency, and technical-economic assessment of rural energy solutions.

Energy Systems Stability and Technical Challenges

Transient processes in renewable energy systems, system stability, practical viability, and technical challenges in renewable energy deployment.
