Mona Allam
Dr. Mona Allam is an Egyptian environmental scientist and remote sensing researcher with extensive experience in water resources, environmental monitoring, climate change, earth observation and applied scientific cooperation.
She holds a PhD in Environmental Science from Ain Shams University, Egypt, and has developed a strong academic and professional profile in water quality, constructed wetlands, remote sensing, GIS applications and environmental assessment. Her research interests include the use of satellite imagery for environmental research, especially in water quality monitoring, water pollution and eutrophication dynamics, climate impacts on aquatic ecosystems, and the role of environmental monitoring in agricultural development.
Dr. Allam has worked with Egypt’s National Water Research Center and the Environment and Climate Change Research Institute under the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation. She has also undertaken research and visiting scientist work in China through programs and institutions connected with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, contributing to work in earth observation, sustainable development, remote sensing applications and environmental monitoring.
Her work connects environmental science, water resources, climate resilience and scientific exchange. She has contributed to research projects and publications related to inland water monitoring, chlorophyll-a prediction, atmospheric correction for satellite imagery, urban environmental assessment, agricultural water management and other remote sensing applications.
As a Founding Fellow of the AOU Pan-African Youth Fellows Network, Dr. Mona Allam may contribute to knowledge exchange, youth capacity building, open learning promotion, environmental and climate-related training themes, Egypt-China/Africa-China cooperation dialogue, and future AOU youth development and GTC Program activities related to sustainable development, smart agriculture and environmental monitoring.
